Complimentary Jewelry Cleaning

At Toner Jewelers, we highly recommend bringing in your jewelry every 6 months to have it inspected and professionally cleaned. We provide this complimentary service to all jewelry regardless of where it was purchased. By inspecting your jewelry, we may be able to catch repair needs before loss occurs, such as loose diamonds and gemstones; worn or broken prongs; worn out clasps or safety latches; loose backs on earrings, and much more. Our team of jewelry experts has over 100 years of combined experience, so you can rest assured that they are going to make the best recommendations to keep your jewelry safe and looking its best.

Watch Repairs

Do you have watches that aren’t running or don’t fit? At Toner Jewelers, we are happy to take care of your watch repairs. Our in-house bench jeweler will replace batteries and make band adjustments while you wait. Prices begin at $25 depending on the type of watch back or movement. Watch batteries that are changed here at Toner Jewelers should not be exposed to water unless the watch has a screw-down crown and has been pressure tested. We can also refurbish bands and cases to remove surface knicks and scratches. If a new battery doesn’t get your watch moving, we have a watch service technician who can provide an estimate.

Our watch service technician picks up and drops off every Tuesday. Depending on the day you drop off, we will have your estimate 1 week from the closest Tuesday. Once you approve your watch estimate it will be approximately 4 weeks for the repair, unless otherwise told. If you choose not to proceed you must inform us to get your watch back from the watchmaker. All internally serviced Rolex watches have a 2-year warranty on service and parts. All other watch servicing has a 1-year warranty.

In most cases, your watch likely needs a COA, or Clean, Oil, and Adjust. Our watchmaker will begin by methodically disassembling your entire watch piece by piece. All parts are then ultrasonically cleaned, degreased, and individually inspected for any signs of excessive wear. The case back seal, crystal seal, and crown gaskets are replaced with new seals and gaskets. All moving parts are lubricated with only the highest-grade lubricants and oils during the reassembly process. Once your watch has been completely reassembled, it is thoroughly tested to our exact standards over a period of 72 hours to assure accuracy, water resistance, and proper operation of all functionality. Any required adjustments will be made accordingly.

Watch Repair Warranty

All watch overhauls are guaranteed for 12 months. There is no guarantee for moisture, bands, crystals, or minor repairs. Replacement of the watch battery does not guarantee function or water resistance. Battery life is not guaranteed. All internally serviced Rolex watches have a 2-year warranty on service and parts.

Optional services include a complete refurbish where the watchmaker will then carefully refinish the watch case, the bracelet, and the bezel to remove scuff marks and scratches so that your watch will look almost as good as it looked brand new. We also recommend watch appraisals to insure you have an up-to-date valuation of your timepiece for insurance purposes. Learn more about insurance appraisals here (link to appraisal page here).

In order to activate the movement, it may be necessary to manually wind your newly serviced Rolex automatic watch before wearing it. This is called the initiation process. Unscrew the crown out to the winding position and gently turn the crown forward about 40 times. Make sure the crown is fully screwed down before putting the watch on your wrist.

If the watch is not worn for over 30 hours, the initiation process must be repeated before wearing the watch again.

Appraisals

Toner Jewelers offers Appraisal Services. Our GIA-certified Graduate Gemologist evaluates and prepares appraisals to establish the replacement value of the jewelry being appraised. She uses industry-standard tools and certified scales to conduct and prepare your appraisal, offering peace of mind that each piece has been properly assessed. This is essential for having your jewelry properly insured. You should update your appraisals every 5-7 years to ensure your insurance reflects current gold and diamond market prices.

You may drop off your jewelry to be appraised any time during regular business hours. Your appraisals will be completed in-house and emailed to you within 7-10 business days. If you prefer to have your appraisal completed while you wait, you may request an appointment with our gemologist, or attend our once-a-month Saturday appraisal clinic. Pricing is as follows: $125 per jewelry item or $150 on timepieces or watches. Discounts may apply after the 4th item. One free appraisal is provided by request with items purchased at Toner Jewelers. Purchases from Toner Jewelers are subject to appraisal update fees.
